The short answer
- Prices vary widely because clinics package PRP and PRF differently: single sessions, series, add-ons, and maintenance.
- Compare the full course, not one session. Platelet treatments are usually planned as a series, often with maintenance.
- At MOHR, care starts with a
$495$299 in-person Hair Assessment, credited toward your first treatment. Programs are three treatments: Essential $2,495 and Advanced $3,995, as published on our pricing page. - No price buys a result. Response varies, and candidacy is decided in person.
Why PRP and PRF prices vary so much
Two clinics can both say “PRP” and deliver different treatments. Preparation methods, tubes, centrifuge settings, and final volume differ, and published research uses many different protocols.2,3 Prices also differ in what they bundle: some include an evaluation, imaging, and follow-up photography, while others quote the injection alone.
A low per-session price can become expensive if it leaves out the parts that tell you whether treatment is working.
What a fair price should include
| Item | Why it matters | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Diagnosis | Pattern loss, shedding, and inflammatory or scarring conditions need different plans.4 | Who evaluates the cause before treatment? |
| Baseline measurement | Memory and bathroom lighting are unreliable ways to judge change. | How is my starting point recorded? |
| Number of sessions | Platelet treatments are usually given as a series.1 | How many treatments, and over what interval? |
| Follow-up | Progress should be compared with the baseline under similar conditions. | When is progress reassessed, and is it included? |
| Maintenance | Pattern hair loss can continue to progress after a series ends. | What does maintenance cost, if recommended? |

Does PRF cost more than PRP?
Not by definition. The price reflects the clinic’s protocol, time, and what is bundled. Current research does not show that one platelet method is better for every patient, and PRP has the larger evidence base.1,2 For the differences in preparation, see PRP vs. PRF.
How to judge value
- Start with the cause. Treatment is only worth paying for if it fits the diagnosis.
- Ask for the whole course price, including maintenance.
- Ask how progress will be measured. MOHR records a baseline with HairMetrix scalp imaging and standardized photography.
- Ask what happens if you are not a candidate. At MOHR, you are told so in person.
